Hi, I'm a medical intern. I' wondering if anyone has found or has any information on the new drug Daptomycin (Cubicin) usage for infants with MRSA. I want to find out everything I can about it, has it been tried on infant with MRSA skin and soft tissue infection or other type of infections, its effectiveness, toxicity and safety in child. If anyone has information, please let me know. I want to help my patient as much as I can.

I am certainly not an infant, I am 55 years old, but I had a reaction to the Daptomycin. I did not sleep for three days and slept only about 4 hours a nite for two more nights. I would hate to see an infant with that reaction. Just wanted to let you know. I have found vanco is all that works for me.

Please try some Chinese Herbs. Find Bensky's Formulas and Strategies, Wu Wei Xiao Du Yin, a formula for carbuncles and furuncles, fever etc. Find someone who specializes in infants. The formula would be very safe and possibly extremely effective--safer than ANY antibiotic. I've seen it work repeatedly in my practice. With herbs it doesn't matter if something is antibiotic resistant--they aren't antibiotics.
luck to you and your patient
