Did you wash your hands before and after you touched the patient?
I doubt if you wore gloves..most doctors don't. I work in the medical field too.

I did was the hands before and after ( only after with a antiseptic
cream)

It is mandatory here to use gloves and one time use robe when touching
a mrsa patient.

Sounds like you have taken the sensible precautions. Most carrier's nasal passages are contaminated so there should be minimal risk, especially since the patient was dead and not breathing.

It should be easy for you to get tested if you begin to exhibit any symptoms. Should you come down with MRSA, that's when your problems really start, considering the limited pharmaceutical options available and their known side-effects. But it's all conjecture unless you actually come down with a resistant infection, then there's something to discuss. No, I won't be able to give you any advice then, either but I can give you some things to think about if your primary motivation becomes finding effective herbal folk remedies that can mean your own survival.

Good luck to you.

I agree with Mr. Anderson that since you washed your hands before and after, wore gloves and a disposable (blue) plastic gown that you at minimal risk. I assume the patient was on isolation precautions and there was a color coded sign on the entryway denoting so?

Best ways to avoid contracting MRSA is:
*Wash hands before and after contact with patients, stretchers and surfaces in hospitals.
*Eat healthy: a lot of greens, avoid processed sugars, exercise and keep your immune system strong
* When you get home from work put your scrubs, lab coat or work clothes directly in the washer and take a shower right away.
* Add a 1/2 cup of borax (such as 20 Mule Team) to hypoallergenic laundry detergent and ensure clothes a dried thoroughly in the dryer.
*Use a tea tree oil (liquid) body wash (such as Dr. Bronners Tea Tree oil castille soap).

Michael Jr -

I certainly understand your concern - antibiotic resistance is increasing everyday and FDA-approved protocols that are effective are diminishing. Pharmaceutical companies have nothing under development that could really take the place of the antibiotics. Phage therapy is expensive and not widely available or practical like antibiotics were.

If a person becomes a carrier, they may not be infected themselves but may infect others.

I cannot recommend whether to test or not as that choice is up to you and you are qualified to decide.

Good luck to you.
