I've read that around 50% of people who get MRSA have it come back
many times over. Those are the stories I read most about on the

Does anyone on here know someone who had it once and it hasnt come
back (yet?).

Hello Newcomer -

You're right. it is the nature of MRSA to keep coming back until it either wins or gets killed and antibiotics are more and more unable to kill MRSA due to increasing resistance by the MRSA. It will keep coming back until it is killed out of a body and will then stop coming back but antibiotics are becoming unable to do this.

This is an increasingly serious problem that could lead to an Antibiotic Apocalypse and many, many thousands already die each year in the USA alone. It will simply get worse with time as no serious replacements for antibiotics are presently under development by the pharmaceutical industry.

There is; however, an old herbal folk remedy that works well to kill MRSA when used properly and that is natural Non-irradiated garlic. Natural, inexpensive, very effective, has no uncomfortable side-effects and can be used in the privacy of one's own home.

If this is of interest to you, I invite you to read my garlic and garlic water posts to understand exactly how and why the allicin in garlic uses a powerful natural force to kill MRSA and is not affected at all by antibiotic resistance because it kills in a more direct way.

In short, natural raw garlic kills all bacteria no matter how resistant they have become to antibiotics.

While you are looking at things in this forum, I suggest you read a thread called Garlic Success Stories - It's a bunch of posts by people who have tried the garlic and garlic water soaks and the results they got. They don't post here anymore because most no longer have MRSA.

Read the posts and learn the how and why of garlic and you will understand. Make of it what you will. It will make even0 more sense during the Antibiotic Apocalypse than it does now and it makes a lot of sense now when you look at the alternatives.

Good luck to you.

New Comer,
also if the boils are on your back... think about what you do with
your shirt off. Like a blanket or shirts, couch ?? you have to
clean everything that touched those areas as the mrsa lives on
clothes and surfaces.
I also have some questions for you. While i only got 1 mrsa boil i
did get other staph infections (1 very minor). I swim in a gym
pool almost everyday. I am curious to know your take. Could i have
gotten this from a pool ? and how can i have developed these when
i swim in bleach/chlorine daily (from a pool)?
I cant understand how i am getting staph when i swim in cholorine
on a daily basis.

Hello Allison -

I really don't have an answer about getting boils from swimming but back 63 years ago when I was a competitive swimmer in high school, I got a boil on my chest even though I swam for a couple hours a day and I never did understand how that could be. Even with MRSA, I think chlorine's killing power is strong enough to kill bacteria and if not, I wonder whether they are using enough chlorine in the pool but I remember it made my eyes red and my vision a little bleary through my bloodshot eyes.

I like your name, it reminds me of one of my favorite things, allicin.

Good luck to you.

If i had a bath tub i would have jumped in it with garlic cloves..LOL
. As you said it only matters if you soak in for hours.
as for the swimming and boils
I smell like chlorine in the shower so .... how that does not kill
the staph i don't understand. Thanks for the insight !
