My girlfriend and I have been
battling horrible outbreaks back to
back for the past 4 months since we
first contracted it. Why have only
seen a doc once in the beginning.
What will happen if we just let it do
its thing and not ever seek medical

It all depends on what you do while you wait. If you do nothing to treat it, you both could become very sick and even lose limbs as some have and you can die of sepsis or something else but it will not go away on its own. The bacteria have invaded your bodies and are winning the battle and if nothing is done you will likely die.
In this age of antibiotic resistance, doctors' choices are limited as antibiotics are just as expensive as hey have been and still have the same terrible side-effects but just don't work as well as they once did anymore. That's all between you and your doctors to decide.
Or, you might investigate alternative remedies to see if you can find something that works for you. You have come to the right place to learn about alternatives as many people on this forum have their own ideas about what works for them. Check out the threads and learn. Educate yourselves to what your real choices are and you and your doctors should decide what's best for you.
I am not a doctor of any kind and do not want to be so I cannot give anyone any medical advice, all I can do is discuss the properties of natural garlic and how those properties change depending on how it is processed and used and let people and their doctor decide if it means anything or not.
Please read my posts in this forum about garlic water as an old-fashioned herbal folk remedy to understand how and why it works and decide whether you think it means anything or not. I believe a series of garlic water baths helps people come away more relaxed and with an enhanced sense of well-being.
Please search for my garlic and garlic water posts in this forum and you will come away with a greater understanding of how and why garlic does the things it does.
Good luck to you both.
