Recently reading about the kitty Cope saga and her large payout it sent out alarm bells about the crazy compensation culture that has gripped the UK.
A friend of my mothers also living in South Wales had a hip operation that resulted in a very severe case of MRSA infection.
So severe was her condition that she remained in hospital for over three months and it was deemed neccessary to call the priest to give her comfort with staff believing she was on deaths door.
Thankfully she did pull through but has undergone another hip operation which still leaves her in some discomfort.
She is not the same age as Kitty Cope but has reached retirement age and the thought of any redress from the hospital was the last thing on her mind.
I myself was born in the early 1960s when the thought of where there's blame there's a claim was almost unheard of.
I participate in active sports events on a regular basis and did hurt myself badly some years ago.
Did i claim ? Certainly not.
Its no wonder the NHS is underfunded with nearly £9 billion of unpaid settlements still going through the system.
Greed Greed Greed, if there's money involved people will do anything to get their hands on it
