Menopause and Mrsa

I am a 47 year old and had a hysterectomy in 96(I only kept ovaries). In 2006 I developed Mrsa as a result from doing CPR on my mother, she bled out and died.Within 2 months I went into menopause and have hotflashes.Since then I have had numerous outbreaks of Mrsa and I only have 2 antibiotics that will work.Question is,does menopause weaken immune system and does it effect thyroid?.I have been using hormone replacement therapy.I do not want to take hormones but fear if I don't my immune system will be further compromised. Thanks for your help
