I have a borwn widow or brown recluse spider bite. The Dr. has me on antibotics.I remembered my Mother using drawing salve for infections so i bought a tube of goldline Ichthammol Ointment. However I am kind of scared to try on the bite.I was wondering if anyone has used it for these kind of bites? As I don't want to make the bite worse. I am not allergic to any thing except IVP dye.

I know that this is an old message but the ointment will work on Brown Recluse Spider Bites. My sister has use it on herself at least twice and has had no problems, not even a scar... She told a Doc of hers what she had done and he said he would never thought to have used it for that reason...

Mine started with what I thought was a spider bite also. It went downhill from there for several weeks. I was so sick for weeks & then finally got swabbed. I am on ointment in my nose for a year!

my husband started out with what they thought was a brown recluse spider bite. then he ended up in the hosptial for 7 days with what looked like a pimple on his toe. IT WAS MRSA THE WHOLE TIME.

oh, shitshittyshit, 6 weeks ago I thought I had an especially itchy mosquito bite. Kept putting salt on it whenever the itching got bad, salt relieves the itch, then I'd swab on some neosporin and wait for it to heal. A few times it has scabbed over, but IT HASN'T HEALED! I'm so terrified it's mrsa, but it didn't seem painful, just itchy...Damn I'm scared. It's still very small. I just started ichthammol today, if I don't see serious improvement in the next 36 hours am going to clinic.
AM I DYING? I do not have time and money to waste on extensive medical scared.

I know this thread is very
dated....however, For MRSA use manuka
honey. A good quality manuka honey is
going to be around $30 to $40. It is worth
every penny. If you do some research on
your own, you will find that the honey has
been used by many to treat MRSA
