MRSA and blood pressure

I have CA-MRSA that has been treated with bactrim/rifampin/muciporin as well as one treatment of an IV of something (honestly, I was too upset and in too much pain in the ER to even care what it was..but I am trying to find out now)....anyway, my blood pressure was off the charts when I first went to the doctor (200/110) and as I have gotten better (which I say loosely since I know that things can change quickly) it has gotten lower (140/90---still high but I am still on meds and not quite 100%). Has anyone else had high blood pressure associated with their MRSA outbreak? I know BP can be influenced by many things (needless to say that I have been very stressed out, in lots of pain and medication can impact BP) but my doctor is talking of BP meds (though agrees that we should wait and see considering that it has been dropping so much over the past week). I am willing to deal with high blood pressure but I don't want to miss something (like MRSA effecting the heart). My BP wasn't high before but has been high during each of my three outbreaks (in the last 6 months). Thoughts?

High, I noticed that you live in NC and I just moved from Charlotte, NC to SC. I was recently diagnosed with CA-MRSA. I had only one outbreak and yes this is all very new to me. I currentlty take Levaqiun and Mupirocin 2% ointment. These treatments seem to be working for me, along with vigilant sanitation. I understand that you are scared and upset as was I, but keeping a positive attitude with this, will get you through it all. As far as the blood pressure issue, mine went up, but only after I had a slight fever and that is to be expected. I'm not a physician, but stress, fever, lack of sleep and etc would certainly seem to be a reason for elavated BP. Feel free to contact me anytime and this goes for anybody that reads this. My email is jectjohnson@yahoo.com. I hope the best for you and have prayed 4-u. God be w/u. -Ject

I had never had high blood pressure but got mrsa in May . It has been off the charts as high as 206/109 and is usually around 170/100 . Ive been on high blood pressure medication which caused me to go into arythmia and got a nice ambulance ride to the urgent care for a shock to restart. Im now off HBP meds and waiting to see a Cornary specialist. Nobody seems to know anything about this..

The increased stress you are under may account for some of it. I'm not a doctor so I can't give you any advice Consider soothing garlic water baths to help with the MRSA and I hope you come away with an enhanced sense of well-being

Good luck to you.
