I'm writing this to let people know more about this fatal bacterial infection. I know to some it's just bothersome, but 3 Years ago. I was diagnosed with staph in arm close to my wrist. within two weeks it traveled to my nose, but went away in my arm. Unfortunately once staph enters your nose there it will stay. Even if you get better. It's very hard to get rid of. And yet again before I started to feel like my old self. It came back. This time it was diagnosed mrsa staph. I was told while i had these constant outbreaks I was not going to be able to work, This it won't go away so i've been sitting here with a 6month old child which i love dearly and my soon to be wife (when we can afford to get married) for 3 months without a check of any kind. After seeing a ears, nose, and throat specialist. I was even more upset. He was the one that informed me i could get rid of the mrsa staph bacteria in my nose. He went to tell me many people carry the mrsa or common staph bacteria in there nose,... read more

MRSA STAPH and TURMERIC

because of tremendous stress in my life recently, I picked up MRSA from my handicapped little girl who is colonized with MRSA. I developed a boil on my face and didn't know what it was, so i did some online research. I am loathe to go the the Dr. unless I'm really ill, so I decided to try to cure myself. I found that TURMERIC the indian spice worked for a lot of people suffering from boils so I decided to give it a try as I happened to have some on hand. I began by using warm compresses dipped in a solution of water salt and about a teaspoon of turmeric. I also mixed a teaspoon with about a quarter cup of warm half and half and drank it several times throughout the day. The boil was nearly the size of a golf ball when I began. By the second day it opened and began to drain pus. Then I made a paste with salt turmeric and water and applied it directly to the boil and covered it with a sterile gauze. I kept up the regimen and the boil is almost completely gone after 8 days. However, se... read more

To the forum…

As I mentioned some time back, I’d be putting up information concerning garlic… finally it’s up. As you all know I’m very selective and after much research I believe I’ve found a very good source and unique perspective concerning garlic to share with all of you.

You can find a portion of this interesting and educational write up on http://webpages.charter.net/mrsa.america_beyond/index.html under the drop down menu top right entitled ‘Supplements’.

I’d also like to introduce this document’s author to forum – Mr. Bob Anderson will be coming onto forum to assist us in learning all we can concerning the properties of garlic.

Please help him to feel at home. Ask the million questions.

Welcome Bob!

My 4yr old son has had continuning bouts with Mrsa. I was glad to find this site with people discussing persistent mrsa. We have tried everything, (with the exception of ladyks mention of the shower curtain that will be thrown away as soon as I get home).

My sons problem is excerbated by excema, which becomes more severe with every outbreak. Its a vicious circle for us. We keep him clean with a antibacterial soap, which kicks the excema into gear, he scratches and viola, another sore appears. Now even worse, he has it colonized in his ears, so everytime he gets a cold, we have mrsa pus literally dripping out his ear.

We started with his ped, went to a dermatologist, and now an immunologist. Somewhere in there, there was also the surgeon. I am thrilled with our new doc. We have a new regime that includes daily baths with gentle cleaners, hibiclens once a week, high dose cortisone cream for excema spots, bactraban for open cuts, hydroxyzine which helps the itching and h... read more

I am colonized with MRSA in my throat, gums, lips, etc. I read a topic here from Bob Anderson to chew garlic and pack it on the gumline in order to get rid of MRSA in the mouth. Is it also advisable to rinse my mouth with garlic water as a substitute for mouthwash? I use Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate mouthrinse).

Pretty much looking for a second opinion. Had a culture done last
week, doc finally came back with a 'normal staph infection'
diagnosis, but Google (of course) says differently.

I learned of this protocol on a fb
mrsa support group and it has helped
me very much with fatigue joint pain
and it has weakened but not stopped
the boils. E tea capsules or essiac
tea,colostrum, red clover, natural
fiber,take this four supplement three
times daily and vitamin b the kind
you squirt under your toung..I 've
been doing this four one month and
haven't had this much energy since
contracting mrsa..I'm still getting
boils but they are tiny and don't
make me sick or weak anymore. They
die in a day or two with topical
urine treatment. I also spray daily
with a squirt bottle my whole body
with urine colidiol silver and or
essential oils. .I really do feel
better..if the fatigue is killing you
try this it helped me so much I
started working out again..amazing a
month ago I spent most of my free
time in bed or wanting to go back to
bed..

Can MRSA infect bones/joints?

I am a 54 year old female and have had MRSA for the last 4 months, thought to a caused by a bite from a Brown Recluse spider. 3 to 4 days after I finish an antibiotic, I start showing signs of MRSA again. I have had boils, sinus, throat/tonsil problems and now seem to be affected in my bones and joints. Recently, all joints of my arms, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles are very painful. It almost feels as though my entire arm and leg BONES hurt as well. (I have had MILD Osteoarthritis for about 15 years in my knees and ankles but nothing like this!) Does anyone know if MRSA can affect bones and/or joints? My doc is sending me to an infectious disease doctor but I have not had the appointment yet. Thanks for any information you can share with me! God Bless you all! Carole

Hello,everyone.

I 'm 34 years old mother.My problem
started 2 years ago with a sense of
burning at my tongue. As days passed, this
burning gave its place to a persistent
bitter taste in my mouth. Since then I
experience the bitter taste almost in a
daily basis.

Notices and facts that may make sense are:

- The bitter taste come and go and I
cannot make any connection with a possible
cause(allergy, stress periods, stomach,
digestion problems,etc)

- I had been diagnosed with allergic
rhinitis (long time before the problem of
bitter taste had started) for which I had
taken medication(antihistamines, cortisone
injection) and I had been cured.

-There are days that I feel good (no
symptoms at all),days that I have the
bitter taste some hours per day and days
that the symptom bothers me all the day
during.

- I have hashimoto's thyroiditis for which
I don't need to take any
medication/treatment so far.

-I had been facing the bit... read more

Hi there. I know this will gross you all out, but I successly cleared a long running MRSA infection, with Urine Therapy in just 2 wks. It was totally unresponsive to antibiotic creams. Id read two books on Urine Therapy, and at last in desperation, having tried everything else, decided to try this strange treatment. It worked! Eleven days later I have beautiful skin. I was overjoyed! All I did, was apply my own urine to my skin and leave it on. I did this 4 times a day. The first week, it looked better every day, then the last 4 days it looked much worse, but I perserved. Then on the 12th morning I stopped, and the whole thing just cleared up beautifully over the next two days. I did some research and found that the urea in urine protects against the proteins that staph produces to ensure their survival. Not only is urine anti-bacterial, but protects your own good bacteria, so the infection doesn't resurge when you stop treatment. Your own urine contains all the antibodies your body... read more

I'm 58 and acquired deep wound MRSA following low back fusion with steel support, in florida. I've looked all over the internet and can not find any info on successful or unsuccessful lawsuits or settlements on MRSA contracting/treatments.

Would you or families post your/their legal experience on this subject.
Thanks - Still on Vanco via IV after 8 weeks..

Feeling Very Sick With MRSA

I'm scared and just looking for a little advice and support. I've just just noticed a large mass under my breast on Saturday. It was bright red and horribly painful. I've had bouts with cysts and stuff before so I had assumed that's all it was. Little did I know all of these "bouts" was actually MRSA. (I'm a nursing student and have done some research on the disease this week.)

I ended up going to the Emergency Room at the local hospital on Tuesday morning. I'm usually a pretty healthy person but the prior few days were torturous. I was experiencing not only severe pain from the mass but in my lower abdomen, neck, head, back and legs. I was running high fevers around 101.5, they would break and come back over and over. I was also extremely nauseous and I know I was suffering from dehydration.

So when I got to the ER I told them I was pretty sure I had a staph infection. The ER doctor kind of blew me off. "Oh yeah, everyone has MRSA these days." I kept asking him if I should ... read more

MRSA free over a year, Still afraid to Shave

Almost two years ago I was struggling with recurrent MRSA infections in my right
armpit. After IV antibiotics and several incision to drain abscesses, the MRSA finally
seemed to subside. I stopped shaving, and if I need deodorant I only use a spray on
type. My underarm hygiene now boarders on OCD, I'll spare you the details.

I haven't had any MRSA problems for almost a year now. But I am SICK TO DEATH of
having to wear long sleeve shirts and sweaters to hide the fact that my underarms are
unshaven! It is summer, it is hot; I want to be able to wear tops without fear of my
underarm hair being on display!!!

I want to resume shaving my underarms like a civilized American woman. But I am
terrified of the MRSA coming back. I'm not sure I could handle going through it again.
And I'd never forgive myself if I cause my MRSA to come back and risk infecting my
two-year-old daughter.

WHAT SHOULD I DO!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! To shave or not to shave!? Laser hair... read more

recurrent mrsa in the ears

I am looking for feedback from others who have experienced mrsa in the ears. My son has had recurrent ear infections since 6 months old. he has had 2 put in twice and the infections became more frequent and ferocious after the second set. I think he got the mrsa at the hospital when they did the tube procedure. He suffered for 10 months until during a 3rd tube procedure a sterile culture showed it was mrsa. he saw pediatric infectious disease doctors and was treated with the bactriban in the nose, bactrim- failed, zyvox- failed and finally the rafampin seemed to work. We had to have nasal swabs to test for the mrsa which were negative for the family even though my son had ooze coming from the ear. We had to take clorox baths, use phizohex soap and scour the house. I thought he was doing well but has now had 2 more infections in the past 5 weeks but a culture can not be done since the fluid is in the middle ear. I have again seen the ent who finally stated that they have done everyth... read more

Hi, I'm new to this forum in terms of contributing, but read it quite frequently! I
have been fighting MRSA for almost 2 years and have gone thru many of the
same treatments, medications, PAIN, fatigue, depression, etc., so I will spare you
all that part of this. My confusion being.... my original abscess on the outside of
my ankle has flared up again (we get the site closed and healed but in about 3-4
weeks opens and drains) I'm currently in a pressure wrap, AGAIN. I go back to the
Wound Center tomorrow (06/23/17). What started all this is my primary Doc
ordered a SED Rate blood test and a wound culture as we were discussing my
various symptoms, some of which are old and some are new. I went right over to
the hospital lab and they took blood for the SED test and then preceded to say
"we don't do cultures here" (I was pretty sure they really meant cultures on you,
MRSA is probably stamped all over my records, which calls for different protocols

TO all

I will try to make a long story short. Had a tooth ache back in December. Went to dentist and he said nothing was wrong with my tooth. At the end of Dec.the tooth was really bothering me so I called my dentist and again, took an xray and found nothing wrong with my tooth. He told me to go to an ear, nose and throat doctor thinking it could be my sinues. I didnt go. So mid Jan. the pain got so bad, I went to the ER and they dianosed me with TMJ. SO I followed up with an oral surgeon. He did a panoramic xray and said that the tooth I was complaining about had an infection that needed a root canal. Went to a root canal specialist, he drilled the tooth and started a root canal, gave me antibiotics and told me to come back in 3 weeks, so a week later the pain was really bad and when I called the dentist, he was on vacation. Went to another dentist who drilled the tooth but left it "open" so that the infection could drain. He put me on more antibiotics (augmentin). Fo... read more
