Raw Garlic vs. Garlic Powder in Winter

Last month I got a hold of some not-to-hot but non-irradiated
garlic. Did some baths. Seemed to help. Running low now and have
started using store bought garlic powder marked 'un-irradiated,
organic' etc. I get the STRONG garlic smell when it has been added
to water and has set for awhile but, from what I can tell, it
isn't helping as much as the raw stuff. Even after adding more.

I've found some Russian Red organic garlic that I'm thinking of
buying BUT what I'm wondering is THIS: from what I've read there's
a shelf life with garlic's allicin even before it's
chopped/grated/etc, so is garlic that was harvested in the Fall
still going to be good this time of year (Febuary) or should I
just stick to the powder until I find one with better results?

Thanks for the info in advance.

This metod worked for my family. First decolonize your body through special
bath, decolonize your nostrils through antibiotics cream, etc....Then, take
supplements like vitamins, minerals, probiotics, omega 3, etc.... make your
immune system strong. MRSA is everywhere you cannot decolonize your
environment you can only decolonize your body and make your immune system
strong. Good luck and best wishes to all!!!

I was diagnosed with MRSA about 2 weeks ago, and was given
antibiotic and a creme to apply to the sore I had, my question is,
why is that area as to where the MRSA was, is still very sore, it
feels like at times that a match is being place inside my skin, and
the pressure feels like, something is trying come out, I can't even
lean on the arm. The MRSA was just above my left elbow. It burns and
very tender to the touch. Sill is swollen in the area, but no more
redness. My question is, if this normal after the MRSA sore healed?
Thank you for any answers that you may give.

I am posting from Australia can't find any local mrsa forums so I will
post here.

I had recurrent mrsa skin infections from early September last year
until mid January this year.

For the first couple of months I felt fine but by about November I
started to feel tired and two lymph nodes came up in my neck.

GP got some blood work done and it was normal except for a slightly
low blood count 131 (I am male late forties base is usually about 145)

I just kept getting worse terrible left hand side pain, and
intermittent dizzy spells.

Early in the new year GP sends me for more blood work and my red blood
cell count has crashed to 116 but my iron b12 and folate are all
normal.

She orders one of those occult bleeding tests where you take stool
samples over a three day period to see if there is any blood, it comes
back negative.

She decides to leave it a couple of months and see if my blood count
picks up and says that if it doesn't she will send me to... read more

I was diagnosed with MRSA almost 3 weeks ago. I was given bactrim but had an allergic reaction. Was then perscribed Doxycycline which I will be done with tomorrow. My problem is that during the time before I was diagnosed and dealing with my absess (walnut sized pocket under my arm full of puss) and up to right now my shoulder and arm are in constant achy pain. The worst is my bicep - I still do not have sull use of my arm. Typing sends aches up my arm. Is this from the MRSA? Is it eating away at my muscles? What can I do?

Large staph infection - Bob Anderson

My sister has been battling staph for a few months now and we got on top
of most of the infections with tee tree oil and a few other natural
products but 2 were persistent and were not closing up anymore. My
sister has also been fighting lupas for a number or years and due to
this was in a low metal state and decided to turn to the doctors. In the
matter of 5 days the infection went from the size of facial pad to most
of her calve so we removed her immediately because she risked loosing
her leg. After reading this we decided to treat it with garlic and
within 24 hours the wound was scabbed over but there was a lot of dead
tissue around the wound. After a few days of applying garlic and taking
baths we stopped the garlic treatment and starting using raw honey and
taking the garlic orally. After a week and a half the wound is still
wearing and looks like a part of it is still active. Is it possible that
some of the staph is still alive but on the same wound 3... read more

MRSA linked to Psoriasis

My mother had experienced a large lump in her groin several months ago and after 2 weeks of being extremely ill, I practically drug her to the E.R. and found out she had an abscess in her groin in or around the lymph node. She also has had severe Psoriasis for almost 13 yrs and had a hip replacement in January of 2008. The MRSA site, her groin/lymph node is on the same side as her hip replacement. Our problem is that after her 8 day hospital stay nearly 3 months ago, and thought to have treated the MRSA, she is back in the hospital again, and having almost identical problems. Last time, they had removed part of the lymph node and drained the abscess. This time, they simply drained the area, cut the area open, and stuffed it with gauze, leaving the wound open in hopes to let it heal on it's own and seep out anything inside in the process.
My question is...has anyone ever heard of psoriasis causing such an abscess in a lymph node? The Dr.'s are unsure what is causing it, but... read more

MRSA in the urine

My original bout with MRSA was when I contracted it in the hospital from sinus surgery. I was ill for about 6 months and then went on IV Vanco. I just went in to my PCP for a UTI and my urine came back MRSA positive. I can find very little information on MRSA in the urine. I also wonder where else it is my body. I work in a medical facility and I have a newborn grandchild and worry about both constantly being in contact with MRSA and constantly worried about spreading it. The Dr says just to wash wash wash the hands. There are so many questions and so few answers.

My fiance' was had a boil on his leg and went to the Hospital back in November 2012. The doctor had to cut his leg in two different places to help release the pressure and drainage associated with the infection. The wound has healed since then, but nothing is better. His leg has these horrible twitches. I CAN SEE HIS LEG TWITCH WITH MY OWN EYES, AND IT SCARES ME TO DEATH! Does anyone know why this is happening? He says it's so painful, and I'm scared because I don't know what to do for him. Please help!

Trying to Understand What Happened

Back in 2012, I had a small bump on my thigh that itched. I scratched it and it
seemed to go away. But, shortly thereafter, it came back with a vengeance. I tried
draining it on my own, but it kept getting worse. I knew without a doubt I needed
help when it was a hot humid August day, and I was wearing four layers of
clothes. Redness had spread around half one side of my thigh. My sister drew a
circle around it and said if it changed by morning to go to the doctor. The
redness spread more, and so I went. The doctor gave me antibiotics and redrew
a circle. Come back tomorrow if no change. It got worse. So, my mother took
me back, where the boil looking center was drained. My mother said they cut
deep into my leg to scrape out all the infection. The small (pencil eraser size) but
deep looking hole was filled with what the doctor called antibiotic tape (he packed
over a foot of tape into it). A shot in the hip and antibiotics followed. Every other ... read more

Cleaning up MRSA

I understand MRSA can live on surfaces, is that correct? If so, for how long? I can't even imagine all the surfaces in my home I have touched between contracting it and being diagnosed.
I am uncertain how often to clean up to know that I have gotten rid of as much of it as I can. Must the MRSA drainage from an open wound touch something or is it simply on the skin and anything or anyone I touch can pick it up? Even pets?
Also, I work at a fabric store, I have touched hundreds of fabric bolts, not to mention cash registers, shelves, items, etc. Can I reinfect myself from that? (And my furniture is of course, fabric, how does one cleanse that?)
I have noticed people mention bleach and also garlic water to clean up the home after an MRSA outbreak. I prefer garlic over bleach. How strong of a compound of garlic and water will work?
I fear the antibiotics won't work after seeing the problems people are having. If they do work, I fear re-occurance and re-infection so I want to try a... read more

Im tristan, 16 years old.
I have had a CR severe, terrible past few months with
a severe and worsening MRSA infection. I first got
an abscess about 3 inches wide on my left eye and
after being given 4 antibiotics it started going
away. As soon as I started this medication Bactrim
it started hurting my back so on the third day it
was bad enough I went to the hospital. I asked for a
MRI or CT scan knowing that this would detect the
pain and thathe an x ray would not see my problem
considering the pain was internal feeling like my
organs almost were in pain. Still they took me off
my Bactrim and sent me off telling me to take
ibuprofen and Tylenol together as needed. Anot her 2
weeks go by and the pain is so bad in my back that I
can't even move out of bed without bursting in tears
from the sheer pain. I go back to the hospital and
the doctor basically sees me for 2 minutes pokes my
back and hurts me and when I move he calls it a

MRSA & Memory Loss

In 2007 I developed a systemic MRSA infection that shut down my immune system. About a month later, I developed Mono and was put on a long list of medications and complete bed rest for 2 1/2 months. Over the next three years I continued to have MRSA skin and soft tissue infections and also had pneumonia each year. Finally, in 2011 I only had one minor MRSA infection, but had drug resistant pneumonia twice for a total of four months. I'm glad to be rid of the skin infections; however, my memory seems to be shot.

Do long-term MRSA infections contribute to or cause dementia or alzheimer's type symptoms?

Anyone Willing to Share Story in video?

I'm looking to make a PSA-public service announcement-type video
telling the serious, long-term affects of MRSA. My friend's
daughter has recurrent staph infections in her ear that have
resulted in multiple surgeries near the brain, loss of hearing,
loss of balance, and migraines, etc. Even worse, her dreams of
career, etc., have been derailed. Her parents have actually
started a company that is focused on preventing infectious
disease.

If you are also suffering with MRSA (which I'm guessing you are
since you are on this site), I'm sorry for your struggle.

Would you be willing to share YOUR story to show the real life,
life-changing effects of MRSA? The video would be used in
infection control training and may be on our website. If so,
please respond here. Thank you.
