Garlic Water

Hi Bob.

Thanks for all you do on this forum. I've completed three garlic baths but I have to stop due to the fact I have young adult age kids home for the summer and the tub is in there bathroom, mine and my husbands only has a shower. I cannot bring myself to use their bathroom at all (I only clean it).

So my question to you is are there benefits in crushing the garlic, letting it sit for 30 minutes or so then adding warm/hot water, let that sit for a bit and then drink it. Do you think/know if this can help? Thanks again.

just come here to give some advise to people who may have not tried these natural remedies yet. In past couple months I've been having breakouts every week. I started doing the garlic baths along with combination of using olive leaf extract with a probiotic. Olive leaf extract is used in european countries to treat mrsa infections. If you do decide to use olive leaf extract I was recommended to use 500 mg with a 75 mg oleuropein. Take 4 a day for 1 week and then 2 a day for 3 more weeks. But I think I will just continue to take these. It's been more than two weeks now and so far, no outbreaks.I also use a Bacitracin zinc ointment in my nostrils once or twice a day. I have also heard of natural product called Schuessler 12 cell salts (tissue salts) from what I have read many people have claimed this has cured their MRSA along with many other things. Hope this helps anyone. I will keep everyone updated on how this treatment is going for me as well

The reason you have not seen links to honey on Main Forum is because they have been removed to Product Forum. If you'd like to discuss this topic... the Product Forum is where you do it, along with multiple other posts concerning this same topic.

This product does come with controversy as to effectiveness and study bias.

In short… below are 3 points taken out of context for you to read.

[Quote
1. Main results: Most trials were at high or unclear risk of bias.

2. Authors' conclusions
Honey dressings do not increase rates of healing significantly in venous leg ulcers when used as an adjuvant to compression. Honey may delay healing in partial- and full-thickness burns in comparison to early excision and grafting, and in cutaneous Leishmaniasis when used as an adjuvant with meglumine antimoniate. Honey might be superior to some conventional dressing materials, but there is considerable uncertainty about the replicability and applicability of this evidence.... read more

Today is 06/25/13. Back in January I was more than likely bitten by a
brown recluse spider on my scrotum. Two days later an abscess formed on
the right side and blew up to the size of an apple just on the right
side. Day 3 I got to the er they look at it and say its cellulitis and
wrote a script for a antibiotic. 2 days later a big hole formed and
concave inward. I returned to the er and they cut me open in 7 spots
give me another script for stronger antibiotics. A month or so goes by
and my scrotum heals. Two weeks after that a bump on my inner thigh
appears and within two days manifestis into a 3 inch open wound. I go
to my primary care doctors where they take cultures and tell me I have
MRSA. Gave me a list of things to take and do. It heals in a months
time. I have 3 more outbreaks after that. One really bad 10 days ago
where over a dozen spots appeared. A cluster on my lower back, both
inner thighs, and my scrotum. I go back to my primary doctor he take... read more

PS Thank you! Believe this is an answer to my prayers. Been most painful and tiring
thing ever! Very desperate for relief as boils press on scalp. Headaches big time, trying
to stay away from ibuprofen. Also you have someone who mentioned crystal like
reaction on scalp. That also happened to me with the initial stage...maybe related to
dermatitis?

First of all, thank you for reading my post. Any help you can provide would be most
appreciated.

I have a teenage daughter who has been a competitive swimmer for a few years now.
A couple of months ago she got a small bump (no bigger than a pimple) on her upper
leg. She said it itched, and when she scratched it it broke open and, as she puts it,
"stuff came out." A few days later she noticed a second bump next to the first. That
one itched too. Neither of them ever got big. Her coach told her it was Staph. We
went to the dr and he prescribed her an antibiotic. She took it and told him the next
week that it didn't appear to be going away so he gave her Ciprofloxin. After she
finished those, the bumps seemed to dry up, but never went away. Now she has
several tiny bumps (kind of like you'd see if you shaved with a dull razor), but they
never get bigger. Upon my suggestion that they may be shave bumps, she disagreed
because the bumps were confined to one... read more

Open MRSA abscess for 1 month

I had an abscess drained approximately 1 month ago. when they drained it they cultured it since I told them I had spent a couple of days in the hospital with my sick grandmother who eventually passed away due to sepsis. Two weeks after the draining during an OB appt. for a Mirena procedure I asked and found out that it was MRSA! (totally upset about them dropping the ball on that one) During this whole time thinking it was only an abscess I hadn't been back to the dr. not to mention I don't have insurance so, just trying to save some bucks ya know. My husband has been graciously packing my wound (it's on my buttocks) and keeping it covered but I'm just becoming concerned since I've found this forum. It' still draining a month later although the holes are smaller. It was one abscess that tunneled down two separate ways. I've been on clindamycin for 4 weeks and the first two weeks the swelling, redness and tenderness all went away and has only left the draining and tenderness insi... read more

I have had MRSA ,I believe for at least 2 years, but was only diagnosed in may of 2006. My daughter is 3 years old and she had it in her nose, but she was fine after just a week of treatment with bactorban. She didn't have boils or any sign, just a runny nose that wouldn't go away, but I had everyone that had been around me get tested. She was the only one to have a positive result, besides me, and she is cured. I, however, have had the vancomycin home iv care, sulfamate, minocycline, zyvox $140 pill a day, hibiclens, bactorban, mycotracin, and kerflex. My doctor is with infectious disease control and told me I won the award for the most stubborn infection of the year. A lot of help that is when I go to the doctor almost weekly, good news is that they think the staff is secondary and a thing called HIDRADENTITIS SUPPERATIVE is the primary. The funny thing is when I read about that its also hard to cure, but I am on accutane now and am told I am looking at another 4-5 months. I am not ... read more

MRSA makes bad neighbors?

I live in a small town, with a small town doctors office. I was told I have MRSA by my doctor. The thing is, a friend I grew up with works there as does my next door neighbor. The neighbor is pretty new and has small kids.

So, I am expecting I will never get to know my new neighbors as she is the receptionist at the Doctors office and now knows I have MRSA. I expect her and her family to shun me in fear I may pay it to them. I suppose I would act in the same manner, it just sucks!

I imagine the woman I grew up with, who also is a receptionist--will also tell our mutual friends about my diagnosis. I may as well toss 30 years of freinds away as well.

All medications, supplements, and herbs are capable of side effects regardless how they are administered, including absorption through our largest organ - our skin. Known interactions must be thoroughly investigated as a safety precaution.

Additionally, all three topical care options below carry the same caution when it comes to application on the face - AVOID EYES. One must be fully informed in order to correctly ‘weigh treatment value vs. potential complications’ as they relate to each one of us specifically.

MRSA and Kidney infection

I came down with MRSA in March 2013 after having a cath a port
installed so I could have monthly infusions due to my MS and
Ankylosing Spondylitis. It was septic and after a month of IV
Treatment, Dr told me I was fine. Last Friday I resumed my monthly
infusion for AS. By Sunday a.m., I had come down with UTI and then it
progressed with the worst kidney infection I have ever had. Urgent
care Dr.put me on Bactrum and nothing for pain. Could MRSA still be in
my system and maybe flair up when the infusion lowered my immune
system? And of course, my Dr is out until next week. I've taken the
bactrum for 2 full days now and woke up this am with the worst pain in
my pelvic bone (never have had this pain in any prev infect) and not
feeling any better(burning and kidney pain). Sorry this is long, your
input is appreciated. Just worried. Thanks

Boil inside my coochie (sorry for wording)

So I think a boil popped inside my coochie. Normally, I go through a
process of letting the boil heal after they've popped but I don't see
how this process is going to work now that I can't exactly let my wound
breathe. I'm sorry for the wording - it's not exactly a topic I want to
discuss anywhere, much less on public forums.

Hi, I'm asking for info. for my mom. She was in Florida and found these little red bumps on her leg, thought she was bitten with red ants... few days later it became red, swollen and turned into an abcess. She had a blood clot on the same leg, so the dr. said it was a result of the blood clot. But, if she had gotten bitten by ants maybe she has the mrsa??? any info to help me out on tests she may need??? Thank you!!!!!!!! Her wound has not gotten better since Feb of this year. Even the wound clinic isnt having any luck??

I am totally ignorant about MRSA. It was discovered when I was pre-
screening for a surgery. I freaked out because I had a brand new
grandbaby. The hospital said don't worry about it, I was just
colonized. It was mostly the way they would treat me with antibiotics
to keep me from getting post-surgery infections. That was a number of
months ago. Now my husband and I went on vacation together with my son
and his family. My husband got a huge boil, and my son got one too! Did
they get it from me? Could they have gotten it from the pool at the
resort? Please help.

Wow, how life can change in a matter of days.

Last Friday ( May 24, 2013) I was swimming in a swimming pool with friends. After a
long day in the sun having fun, I went up to my apartment, had a shower and took a
nap. The next day I woke up with what looked like an ingrown hair on my belly,
except that it hurt. I didn't much of it till the next day when my wife told me it was
swollen and red. I went to work then to the doctors. The doctor told me I had
Cellulitis and that I was to be admitted at once. I was admitted to the hospital that
night, put on IV meds (don't know what kind) and the next day they told me I had to
have surgery to remove the Necrotic tissue. They removed the tissue and I was on IV
meds every 6 hours for 3 days. After being released from the hospital they put me
on Trimethoprim (160) - Sulfamethoxazole (800) every 12 hours for 2 days. I had to
go in for daily dressing changes and each day they told me it was getting better and
